To ensure that your car can be at a top notch condition at all times, and in order to keep your vehicle as novel as possible, there are some things you have to bare in mind once you rolled out of the dealer’s office.

Firstly, please be patient during break in period. Break in period usually refers to the first 1,000 miles or 1,600 km. while cruising within this period, be sure that your vehicle speed is no more then 55mph or 88km/h or any recommended speed by your car’s producer. Also, circumvent any heavy load such as loading on to the roof rack with heavily construction materials or metal pieces. Moreover, do no leave you car idle for too long, reason is because during breaking period, the oil pressure produced might not be send throughout the entire engine, thus hindering the longevity of the engine. To add on to the comfort of the car, if possible, do not accelerate above 3,000rpm for the first few hours while driving, light and medium acceleration is recommended.

Despite that, you will have to handle your car with care everyday; in return your car will guaranteed longer intervals without needing to repair. To do that, do not accelerate to the max while start up, as it will increase the burden on your engine, thus allowing the wear and tear to happen quicker. The most wear and tear happens during the first 10 to 20 minutes when you start your journey. Drivers usually warm up their engine/ letting it idle for a few seconds before driving it out, it is actually a wrong move. By doing so, the engine is unable to work at its peak, thus resulting in partial fuel combustion, oil contamination and finally damaging the engine components.

Also, it is encouraged to put less strain to your engine, this can be done by shifting the gear to neutral while the car is stationed. Such action is needed because when the engine is still running it will push the car forward even when the brake is being pressed, thus straining the mobility of the car making it wear and tear faster. When there is extreme weather changes, avoid accelerating the car too fast or cruise in a high speed as it will encourage deterioration to the car.

Besides, to ensure the life span of your tyres, be sure to take note of the speed limits. Fast start, stop and turns had to be minimised, also try to avoid potholes while moving on the road. Curbs had to be avoided as well. In addition, while turning your steering wheel, be remindful to minimise the time period while turning on extreme right and left, as it might damage the power steering pump.

If such moves can be practised, your car will definitely be in a healthier and happier state.
