Do you drive but leave the task of maintaining your car to the mechanic, dad or hubby? Good drivers will maintain their cars frequently; after all, your own safety is at risk if your car isn’t well-maintained. What is the basic car maintenance that you can do?

The tyres must be aligned because you will have problem controlling your car and it will also make the tires wear out if the tires are not aligned. Alignment is done according to the car maker’s specifications. Sometimes a small hole will affect tires’ alignment.

Check tyre pressure to make sure that all tires are in good condition. Otherwise you will be driving with uneasiness. Make sure all the tires are air pumped according to their respective readings. A car with a flat tire will delay your trip.

Check battery water if you not using the dry ones. Without battery water, your car will be able to get charged and start. If the battery water is low and you didn’t know about it, you might be able to refill on time. There are times where you can’t find a workshop near you.

Do you have enough oil? Don’t wait until is very low pressure. If you continue to drive when the oil light is on, your car engine will spoil. Oil pressure can be caused by pump failure, oil filter blockage, and others. Oil acts as corrosion remover, cleaner, engine cooler, and improved sealing. If you don’t change oil when needed, you will see damaged parts and that will cost more.

Are the windows and doors working properly? Make sure all four car windows can be wind open and close. Can you open all the doors in case of emergency, you won’t want to get locked inside the car, correct? If they are not working well, please go to the workshop to check and replace if needed.

Need to change light bulb? Make sure you wear rubber surgical or mechanic’s glove when doing this task. Don’t ever touch the glass bulb that is usually have special coating and filled with halogen. Instead, hold the base where the metal bulb holder is. If you hold the bulb itself, you might leave traces of grease and oil on it that will make it grow hot and crack when used.

Car maintenance is very important. Does your car have any problem now? If yes, please find the best and trust worthy car consultant or workshop to check your car. It is all about your safety and your car’s performance. Don’t neglect your car and your responsibilities.
